Who is the "GrayMan"? Gray Rinehart is the author of one book, Quality Education, and many articles, essays and papers. Check out The Legend of Gray's "alter ego" to find out more about the original "GrayMan" of Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

We hope you like the "GrayMan Writes" web site. The site is designed for quick downloads--with limited graphics, short pages, and no annoying 'pop-up' ads. Let us know what you think!

RECENT EVENTS.
July was a crazy month. We spent Independence Day weekend in northern Virginia as guests at a wedding: a terrific young couple we've known for several years and love as if they were our very own children. We spent the next weekend in the Virginia mountains (at the Massanutten resort) for our dad's 80th birthday. And then we spent a week down in Myrtle Beach for family vacation. In between we had Vacation Bible School, and church business meetings, and slush -- we even carried some slush down to the beach because we'd fallen behind. And when we got back from the beach, the next day we were on two panels at Trinoc*coN, the local SF&F convention. We didn't make much progress on our novel of lunar survival, but we got to the point where we're a little over halfway to our estimated length of 100,000 words. For a slightly fuller report, as usual see the Feature page.

RECENT PUBLICATIONS.
"Above the Event Horizon at the End of Time," a piece of "flash fiction," is in the Summer 2008 issue of Tales of the Talisman

UPCOMING PUBLICATIONS.
"The Mission Matters Most," a brief opinion piece, is scheduled to appear in the Fall 2008 issue of Air & Space Power Journal

UPCOMING EVENTS.
We'll be at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, one day this month for a friend's Air Force retirement ceremony. On the 23rd, we'll be working the "Public Arts" information table at Cary's "Lazy Days" arts and crafts festival. And late in the month we head to Atlanta for Dragon*Con.

IT'S BLOG-TACULAR ...
The Ghost Writer blog is still up and running, and occasionally we post items to it. On even rarer occasions, people read the items. Stop by and visit any time, or sign up for the RSS feed and your computer will tell you when something new is up.

POLITICS AS UNUSUAL ... THE ANTI-CAMPAIGN CONTINUES.
Our anti-candidacy continues, at an even more anemic pace than usual. We may schedule some anti-campaign events for this month. Then again, maybe we won't. But we remain available as your convenient write-in protest vote for any office, anywhere, any time. For the latest, see the Anti-Campaign page.

JACK OF MANY TRADES ...
... master of few. Need a speech written or edited? We'll give you professional results at professional prices. Need a speaker for an upcoming event, or a narrator for a film or video? We'll do that -- price negotiable. Want a hand-crafted, musical-instrument-inspired chair? We'll even do that, for the right price.
