2012 Year-In-Review
The past year was our best ever in terms of writing, with four stories in print. Two were published in Analog Science Fiction & Fact, and two in Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine.
We also started recording studio versions of some of our music, starting with "The Monster Hunter Ballad":
2013 Goals:
- General Lifestyle. Still striving for "less pressure, more fun." The daily/weekly/monthly grind of juggling two jobs, a major service position at church, and trying to write (even a little) makes this difficult.
- Music. Complete recording and release an album of original songs.
- Novel. Continue search for willing publisher.
- New novel. Complete outline and begin writing.
- Short stories. Complete a story or two.
- Blog and web site. Maintain both with consistent updates and quality entries. Transition the blog to another software platform and discontinue the Space Warfare Forum. Complete the 5-year cycle of occasional "space history" items.
- Nonfiction. Transcribe Quality Education, format it for electronic publication, and release. Begin search for a willing publisher for The Elements of War, with the possibility of electronic self-publication.
- Baen Books job. Pick out only the best stories to forward to the publisher, present the most professional face to the public on Baen's behalf, with emphasis on working through the backlog of better submissions held for special review.
- NC State job. Whatever it takes.
- North Cary Baptist Church worship leader role. Plan and present praise & worship experiences that are relevant and uplifting.
